Small event photography services!
November 25, 2022
Since winter is officially around the corner, now is the time where many special events head indoors and thus photography services are a great opportunity to capture these events. From retirements to birthday parties to corporate engagements, having that documented through photography is a great way to not only remember it, but to share it with others. If you have a life or career event coming up, please don't hesitate to reach out to see if I may be able to help you ( or your company, your loved ones, your grandmother) capture these important moments. Hourly and package options are available. Please contact me for more information!

Come to Gardiner, ME on December 2nd!
November 17, 2022
I am super excited to announce that I will be participating in Gardiner's Art Walk on Friday, December 2nd! I will be stationed at Selene's Fly Shop at 218 Water St., where I will be selling my travel photography prints and will also be giving information out about Amy Lewis Photography. There are a ton of local businesses and artists involved. You can find more information about the art walk here: and you can find more information about the type of photography I will be selling here: This is a great opportunity to get out of the house, and support local businesses and artists! What better way to purchase holiday gifts than by shopping local?! I can't wait! Hope to see you there!

My photography was featured in Maine Vibes Magazine!
November 13, 2022
A few weeks back, one of my favorite Maine-based publications, Maine Vibes Magazine did a call for submissions from local artists, entrepreneurs, writers, etc. I decided that I wanted to submit some of my favorite shots from various photo sessions I have done over the years. Just a few days ago, I heard back and they decided to publish some of my photos and a biography. How awesome is that?! I really love Maine Vibes Magazine because they focus a lot of their energy on sharing stories of women and members of the LGTBQIA community. They share stories about artists and their work, businesses that Mainers own, and showcase artwork from photographers, painters and so much more! To view the full article you can visit (you made need to copy and paste this link into your browser): A huge thanks to the founder and editor, Mercedes Trujillo Arnold, for allowing me the chance to be in her fabulous magazine.

The magic of family portrait photography in Maine
October 8, 2022
On the first weekend of October, I held a day-long mini sessions event at the Brunswick Town Commons in Brunswick. The weather was perfect (overcast aka every photographer's dream) and the perfect temperature of not too hot and not too cold. I was able to take photos with several different families and I loved every minute! Everyone was so kind, appreciative and flexible. Each family brought their own energy but they all had something in common - the love of being a family and being together. Even though I was on my feet all day, I had just as much energy at the start of the day as I did at the end. I am realizing more and more how valuable shorter sessions are to families, especially when there are younger children. We are able to pack in a lot of photos into a short period of time, without overwhelming everyone. Each family ended the session with about 20 edited photos on average. And the setting of the woodsy park provided a wonderful backdrop for some serious Maine autumn vibes! The picture to the left is one of my favorites. This family has an adorable daughter who had on a beautiful yellow dress and opted to wear her fairy wings, which she kept on for the entire shoot! I love that they were okay with her keeping them on. I think it helped her feel more comfortable and the pictures have this extra sense of childhood innocense and magic which I just love!

New photo package offering!
September 27, 2022
I've had a lot of inquiries lately about families looking for a shorter photo session, but they are unable to make it to my upcoming mini sessions or they are hoping to have the shoot done at a different location. Since there has been so much interest in shorter sessions overall, I have decided to add what I am calling "short sessions." This package consists of a 30 minute session (longer than the mini session) and a minimum of 20 images (also more than the mini session). The location is open and not tied to a specific place or theme (i.e. Christmas Tree Farm). If you have young children, are short on time, etc, this might be the perfect package for you! I am so excited to start offering this new package and it's all because of YOU!! Check my website under "packages and pricing" for more information or email me to book: [email protected]

New mini sessions added to my fall schedule!
September 22, 2022
Due to the popularity of my upcoming fall and holiday mini sessions, I have decided to add in one additional session type- this time at an Apple Orchard and Farm in Litchfield, Maine! Me and my family have been going to Applewald Farm for many years. We love the low-key nature of the space, the friendly staff and the beautiful venue! They also have a wonderful gift shop with delicious apple treats like DONUTS! Following your session, you can do some apple picking and shop for produce and other tasty treats! Please note that dogs are not allowed at the orchard. Please email me to book: [email protected] or hit the "contact me" button below.

Senior Photography!
August 26, 2022
My kids are just about to start school so I thought now was a great time to more formally announce that one aspect of my photography business is senior photos! As a matter of fact, it was a senior photo session that really set my photography business in motion. A close friend of ours asked me to take pictures of his daughter for her senior year of high school - I was honored and flattered to do so! The session went incredibly well and the pictures turned out fantastic. It made me realize how valuable it is to have professional photos taken and to help people feel like themselves and feel natural. It really comes through in the photos! My package includes a minimum of 15 professionally edited photos which will be delivered via online gallery. The photos will be downloadable for you to print however you would like! Or you can opt to order prints through my website. The session will last approximately 1 hour or longer if we need to travel to an additional location. The turn around time is about 5-7 days. If you are a senior or know a senior in need of professional photos to mark their last year in high school, please reach out!

Where do you like to take photos?
August 24, 2022
We are incredibly blessed to live in a place like Maine because the opportunities for exploring and taking photos are pretty much endless! I have taken photos in a plethora of locations all across the state both personally and professionally. If you are interested in working together, here are some of my favorite spots: Reid State Park - Georgetown: excellent landscape shots including high rocks, sand and the ocean. Bonus - ample parking and restrooms! Mitchell Field - Harpswell: I frequent the beach here during the summers as it's sort of a hidden gem. Mitchell Field affords a lot of different backdrops for photos and they are all pretty close to each other: trees, the ocean, an old brick building for sort of "urban" vibe photos, a gazebo and some trails. Bowdoin College - Brunswick: I know Bowdoin is a relatively popular spot for photos, but I think there is a good reason for that. The campus is abound with tons of beautiful trees, incredible architecture, lavish green grass, opportunities for shade if the weather is hot or shooting is happening in the middle of the day, among many others. The trails near campus are also a great spot for photos as it's sort of off the beaten path, but still close to parking. Town Commons - Brunswick: This is another great sort of hidden gem spot in Brunswick. The location is convenient for families with young children because the parking is right next to the start of the trails. The Commons has a bunch of trails, including the main trail which is relatively wide and great for movement shots and more stationery shots among all of the trees and ferns. Downtown Brunswick: I am ALWAYS on the lookout for unique places to take photos whenever I am walking, driving or riding my bike! I have discovered a few unique spots with fantastic backgrounds around Brunswick such is ivy, antique brick and painted murals. These locations are perfect for people who are willing to do a little bit of walking (or driving) and ideal for couples! I am a huge fan of more traditional backdrops, but I'm equally a fan of non-traditional ones as well!

I am also open to suggestions as to where people would like to take photos, but this is a list of a few of my favorites. If you are interested in setting up a photo session, please email me: [email protected] or hit the "contact me" button at the top of this page!

More tips on photographing kids/travel photography
August 17, 2022
If it wasn't apparent by now, I love taking pictures of my two kids - ages 6 and 7. They are part of the reason why I got into photography- I wanted to have "good" pictures of my kids, not just selfies. I wanted to take pictures that would tell a story and the more time I spend working on my skillset, the better those photos get. And while I like taking the standard - "go stand over there/in front of that and smile" (insert popular landmark/photo spot here) photo, I also love capturing candid moments that tell more of the story. In this photo on the right, you can see my two kids running down the deck of a house we recently rented with some of my extended family. My Dad and Stepmom gave the boys bubble blasters to play with and they were a huge hit! I think this shot depicts the fun they had with their new toys and tells a bit of a story about our trip. Try it out sometime, I think you'll like the results!

Fall is just around the corner, and so are my mini sessions!
August 3, 2022
If you've been on the main part of my website recently or have checked out my instagram account, you've likely seen some information about the mini sessions I will be holding in September (afternoon/early evening time slots) and October (late morning/early afternoon time slots) this year. I think mini sessions are a great way to get familiar and comfortable with having your photo taken if you haven't done so, and are also perfect for families with young children or for people who are short on time. The package includes not only the photo session, but also access to download any and all edited images from your session. The images are yours to keep! Note that these sessions are very popular so book your spot today! Please email me to set up a session! [email protected]

Tips for taking pictures of kids
July 31, 2022
I have been a huge fan of Walt Disney World for most of my life and I remember watching a show on the Disney channel called "Walt Disney World Inside Out." On one particular episode they were talking about courses offered at the now-defunct Disney Institute, a place where kids and adults could take classes on a variety of topics while on vacation. One course taught parents about taking photos and videos of their kids. For whatever reason, I have never forgotten this tip: when you are taking photos or videos of your kids, get down on their level. It really helps the viewer see things from your child's perspective and it creates a better vantage point and overall feeling of the photo. In my example here to the left, is a picture of my two kids. I made sure to squat down to get on their level, which I think is a more pleasing photo. I also made sure to capture this more candid moment. The kids weren't posed this way, but I love the result! Sometimes just "going with it" creates the best photos!
