It all started at an Art Walk in Gardiner.
One thing I have tried to do as much as possible as a small business owner, is to get out and meet people. I love meeting other artists and members of communities near my home base of Brunswick, Maine. I have participated in several Gardiner Art Walks over the past few years and I love how they match local businesses with local artists. I have been able to set up a table with my information so that I can tell people about my love of photography in various spots in downtown Gardiner (which is a beautiful town with a lot of great shops, restaurants, parks, etc.). I crossed paths with a staff member from the Mendall Financial Group and several months later, I was able to connect with her again, along with her wonderful colleagues. The organization was in need of some updated headshots and they also wanted some group shots. These images would include the multiple generations of the Mendall family who have been a part of this incredible business for 4 generations now! They were so much fun to photograph and it was clear how much they truly valued working with each other. I could write a lot more about my experience with them but it would be hard for me to put it all into words. All I can say is that it was one of the best days I have ever had as a small business owner. I was given hugs and a special token of appreciation for my work with them that day. It is one of those moments where I thought to myself - I have the best job in the world and I cannot believe that I get to work with people like this. That may sound corny, but it's true :) I never realized that being a photographer would help me connect with people on a deeper level. I am so grateful for my experiences and this was a tremendous day to say the least. Please check out some of the photos from this special day!
